I Feel It All.

Last night I attended Feist/Grizzly Bear concert at the Fillmore. Yes, first indie show. Pictured left was taken from Tuesday night. Cameras were not allowed, poor Jed. And in that picture would of been Tina, Jed, Jeremy and me chillin. Yes thanks to my cousin for waiting we were standing right in front center. Yes we cut him and like only 30 other people lol. Walked in the Fillmore (first time) and it so reminded me of the Dancing with the Stars ballroom. Very chic. I twirled a bit and secured a spot, in front of the speakers and mic. We had a free apples and my opened water (haha!) and set it on the stage, not forgetting the banana bread. Our own mini picnic. Chronicle has a good review here, but let me give you more commentary if you do care. That Verizon screen saying "Your text here" is a lie. Don't send them text, you won't see it. Hahaha.

The crowd was filled with who you would think would be at a indie show, plus a couple of Asians, yee! So the opening act was Grizzly Bear performing over an hour set. I saw them outside but I didn't know what they looked like. They came on and I only recognized a couple of their songs. Very mellow, relaxing music. And their use of instruments ranging from the flute, clarinet, guitar and other machines I never heard of was awesome. But the big sweat droplet almost hitting us from the singer would of be bad haha. The drummer was kind of cute. They ended and still was on stage just putting their plugs and doodads away. We stretched our legs and neck (ouch), the crew placed waters, set lists, mic checks then around 9:30 she came on stage.

This was the second show in two days and I don't know about the first show, but this one was really really great. As she said "this is our night." She performed many songs from "The Reminder" and a couple songs from "Let It Die." She placed a sequined armband around her mic, while the other had a purple unicorn dangling down. Who knew how funny she was? She forgot her lyrics to 'One Evening' and walked off stage and had the lyrics copied onto the bottom of a beer case and restarted. Also she shout outed this guy in a unicorn shirt who was right behind me. For awhile I thought she was looking at me. And she got the sold out crowd (I could not see the end) into it, singing and shouting out SF, Oakland and Sausalito?!

Feist has an incredible live voice, even with the dance hand motions and funny faces, at least it ain't ugly as John Mayer. You really can't find her kind of raspy, seductive voice anywhere on the radio. I think it was during 'The Park' where the whole band made bird noises, very Bambi woodsy ambiance. The crowd cheered during 'I Feel It All' during the "I want to win the war," I don't thing that song has to do with anything political but just the word war gets us riled up. Also some lady tapped danced and I was scared she was going kick someone hahaha.

She encored with 'Lover's Spit' loved it so much. That was the song that really got me into loving her voice. She jumped on the piano with her lyrics and was accompanied by her former band mate of Broken Social Scene on the keys. That got me right here. She continued with the boys of Grizzly Bear in background vocals to 'Sealion' and ended the show with 'Let It Die.' Brillantly beautiful as ever.

The Fillmore is so rockin' I need to check out another show there. Disco balls, Christmas lights, bar - nice. Some girls to the right swooped on the set list then walked slowed on the now sticky floor to the exit. Made my way through the white crowd and sat for 5 minutes to regain blood movement and retrieved Jed's camera. I did not know this, but the Fillmore always gives special limited posters at sold out shows, very cool. The show was so intimate and fun, which made me appreciate her even more. She has proven you don't need the big over the top numbers, wardrobe changes, pyrotechnics to hear a great singer. Check out Feist's music, you won't be disappointed.

Halfway home.

Alright, less than 2 weeks til school is over and HAWAII! Summer school hasn't been terribly hard minus the waking up at 8 Monday-Thursday. And the sleeping at 1 ain't helping me. Now all I got to worry about is that 10 page research paper and analysis paper/final for variations. I can't believe it's going by so fast. I've enjoyed the guest speakers from the sex industry and staying in class for 1 1/2 hours rather than 4. Also I noticed the new freshmen getting toured around, looking very baby. Oh and I saw the gatoraider who toured my group, he got bigger in the tummy/neck region. The chalkboards in the stalls at SFSU are hilarious, this one got me giggling, I'm mature. I'm pretty sure I heard that before, but I got a laugh. That just made me wonder who actually got up from the toilet pulled out a sharpie. Person must of been thinking on the toilet and somehow this joke was inspired from their poop.
"There once was a man from Nantucket
Whose cock was so long he could suck it
He said with a grin
as he wiped his chin
'If my ear was a cunt I could fuck it"

I get off on this.

Good Cop, Baby Cop

Pearl is sooo cute. If you don't know her you should, check out The Landlord short. Too bad this is her final performance as one of the most famous web celebrities today. Her dirty mouth is brilliant, I guess baby retirement is a good idea. You don't want her to end up retaining such profanity. In this short, Pearl interrogates Angel (Will Ferrell) and breaks him down how a two year old could, with words and a yellow phone book. I doubt that's the last we hear from Pearl, so I leave you with some of her best lines.

"You pay now, bitch!"
"I want my money!!"
"I just buzzed"
"I'm calling 911... wait I am a cop."
"I break bones and laugh"
"You're going down ese"
"I AM THE LAW!"

Let it be only stress.

This is why I'm.

HOT.

Do I really need a reason to post pictures of Milo? Finally he cut those bangs off. Catch Gilmore Girls for your Jess Mariano fix. And he is really the reason why I don't hate "Big Girls Don't Cry."

Caw caw caw.

While I was struggling eating my dinner, (fuck wisdom teeth) I heard a loud repeated noise. At first I thought, "hmm it's just barks from the 'missing' dog from next door." Where is that mini horse sized dog that tackled me on that one unsuspected afternoon? Bitch. That's another story for another day. But no dear friends no not at all! Then I thought maybe a prehistoric creature or even a dragon from The NeverEnding Story! But disappointingly no. I dashed toward the window leaving my purple potatoes and black tea behind.

The noise became more intense. We come to the conclusion that a crow was stuck in our chimney. Maybe a crow is Death of the bird underworld and has come to poke my eyes out for mistreating Blue, Green and my other unnamed parakeets. Oh dear. I jumped outside with my dad in my 'world's softest socks' to find that fuckin crow, which is now annoying and I sense the mockery. Cawcawcawcawyouwon'tfindmehaahacawcawcaw. No luck from the front so we made our way to the backyard. And there lies, honestly the biggest crow I have ever seen chillin on our chim chiminey chim chiminey chim chim cher-oo! We made eye contact. Crowzy (crazy crow) immediately swooped down and flew away. Didn't even put up a fight.

Bargain Hunt.

Dear Target, Marshalls, Steve & Barry's, Ross, etc.

Thanks for the constant mark downs, reasonable priced clothing, having excess supply of smalls. Thats exactly why I like bargain hunting because you have no expectations on what you will find. Plus I'm a cheapo with no trabajo. SJP's Bitten line is too cute because "fashion is not a luxury." I love my olive green bag which I use daily at school. I wish her line was sold up here. Props to Banana Republic Hillsdale for having the dress I will be wearing in Hawaii on sale (first saw it in Emeryville ripped). Yay for $2 shirts, yes you just have to know where to look. Also my regards to the library, I enjoy your free and cheap books for sale and with your free movie rentals I am able to cross more and more movies off my summer viewing list. Cheers!

Flashing lights.

It's kind of weird to release the video for this now that all I hear on the radio is "Summerlove" but I can't complain I love this song. Good memories of singing this during last semester haha. The video reminds me of Windows Media Player and it only shows snippets of Mr. JT, but good shots during "I Think She Knows," very sexy.

Punky.

"You have a much better life if you wear impressive clothes."

- Vivienne Westwood

I'm always up for fashionable art, and at the de Young museum I got to see the revolutionary clothes from Dame Vivienne Westwood. For only 5 bucks, you get to see her 36 years in fashion of celebrated pieces that influenced many designers of today. Her collection on display ranges from her early years, to the punk age, pirates, witches, tailoring, corsets and to gorgeous evening wear.
"Known best for her fearless nonconformity, she also has a profound respect for the past and looks to it for inspiration. With tradition as her springboard, she takes historic garments such as corsets and crinolines and reinvents them in new ways or uses thoroughly British fabrics like tartans and tweeds to create fashion that gently parodies Establishment styles." Also those high blue heels that Naomi Campbell wore are on display. Witness fashion pieces of history before it packs up.

Knocked Up.

If you have not watched Knocked Up yet, ignore all the useless trilogies and watch this very real comedy. I'd write a long review but that would just ruin the experience. Here's some deleted scenes to watch.
